The beloved and I went to see Avatar on IMAX 3D last night...very pretty! The story is, of course, utterly predictable but is reasonably well told for all that and the effects are remarkable.
My delightful eye problems (one eye weaker than the other - my sister has no depth perception as a result and my eyes have to work hard to create depth perception for me) mean that the 3D requires a lot of concentration to see properly and sometimes slips out if I don't keep precisely the right line of sight. To be honest, I'd rather have seen it in IMAX without the 3D...but it was a fun night, prefaced by a burger from the new Five Guys Burgers & Fries that opened up underneath the cinema.
Apparently King County can grant an amnesty on one ticket every seven years, for a $100 admin fee, so I'm going to take advantage of that if I can to get the expired tabs ticket removed from my record. Considering that, until this week, I'd gone sixteen years without a ticket, I feel that it's a fairly safe bet to use the amnesty on this ticket.
